As a part of a Farmers Market Promotion (FMPP) grant awarded by the USDA to the Lane County Farmers Market, we are proud to be in our second year of running a ‘New Member Program’. This program is designed to reduce barriers for new producers to sell at the market and aims to build strong, resilient food systems. This is accomplished by offering a cohort of vendors opportunities such as reduced booth fees, access to marketing materials, specialized training sessions, and a mentorship program. Last year, we had six farms participate, and this year we have welcomed four new farms into the program. Every farm accepted has been in production for 5 years or less, has little to no market experience, and has demonstrated financial and/or social need. We hope that this program allows more up-and-coming farmers to become integrated members in our local agricultural community. Please join us in welcoming these new producers, and stop by their booths!
Basil & Bees (Plant Nursery): open-pollinated vegetable, herb, and bee-friendly plants for the Willamette Valley
Maddie’s Flower Farm (Flower Farm): artful, seasonal farmers market bunches/bouquets, dried florals, seasonal fresh culinary herbs, edible flowers
Lisa’s Market Garden (Diversified Vegetable Producer): salad greens and leafy vegetables
Rigberry Gardens/Riverblend Cider Company (Cidery and Fruit Producer): hand-crafted cider made with native yeasts for fermentation and locally grown fruit
Please keep an eye out for a featured article on cider pressing coming soon!
