Updates as of March 24, 2020

The latest Executive Order given by Governor Brown requires social distancing of 6 feet. We ask that customers, not of the same household, maintain a 6 foot distance from each other at all times when in the farmers market area. This includes while selecting products and waiting in line. Please read below for more information on how we all can help keep the farmers market a safe place to shop for local food.

Fresh and nutritious food is vital, and with safety as our highest priority, our outdoor farmers market is here to nourish our community. We are officially recognized as a grocery store by the City of Eugene and with the support of the City and the State of Oregon, will continue to operate the Farmers Market to provide an essential access point to fresh, locally grown food.

As an essential service, we will be open on Saturdays and Tuesdays. We will reserve our first hour of market  (9 a.m. – 10 a.m. on Saturdays and 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. on Tuesdays) for people over 60 years of age and those who are in a high-risk category (having a previous medical condition). We appreciate others allowing those folks to shop before coming to the Farmers Market.

What we are doing to help keep you safe:

  • Our vendors will be spaced over two blocks to make it easier for shoppers to stay at least 6 feet from each other.

  • Each vendor booth will have a designated 'Social Distancing Safety Officer'

  • No samples will be offered.

  • Vendors will adhere to Center for Disease Control (CDC) protocols.

  • High-touch areas will be frequently sanitized.

  • Handwashing stations that are foot activated will be provided.

  • Neither vendors, nor their staff, will come to the Farmers Market if they are ill. We are waiving cancellation fees for them.

  • We’ll have reminder signs posted.

  • No public tables or seating will be provided.

  • No music or busking will be taking place.

*All forms of payment (cash, credit/debit cards, and LCFM tokens) are accepted. Credit/debit card use is preferred over cash when possible. SNAP/EBT cards are welcome and can be processed at the Info Booth.

Please help us keep everyone healthy:

  • Maintain at least 6 feet between yourself and other people.

  • Shop quickly and do not linger in the market area after you have finished your shopping.

  • Send only one member of your household when possible.

  • Do not handle produce and food items that you are not buying.

  • Sanitize your hands before coming to the Farmers Market.

  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. If you do, please sanitize or wash your hands before touching anything.

  • Do not consume food onsite.

  • Stay home if you have symptoms or have been exposed to someone with symptoms.

We share our community’s interest in minimizing the risk of transmission, while also understanding the importance of access to locally grown and produced foods. Thank you for your support of these efforts!
