Updates as of July 1, 2020

The latest Executive Orders given by Governor Brown require social distancing of 6 feet and wearing a face covering while indoors in public spaces. We ask that customers, not of the same household, maintain a 6 foot distance from each other at all times when in the farmers market area. This includes while selecting products and waiting in line. We recommend that customers wear a face covering while in the market area. Please read below for more information on how we all can help keep the farmers market a safe place to shop for local food.

Fresh and nutritious food is vital, and with safety as our highest priority, our outdoor farmers market is here to nourish our community. We are officially recognized as a grocery store by the City of Eugene and with the support of the City and the State of Oregon, will continue to operate the Farmers Market to provide an essential access point to fresh, locally grown food.

As an essential service, we will be open on Saturdays and Tuesdays. We will reserve our first hour of market  (9 a.m. – 10 a.m. on Saturdays and 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. on Tuesdays) for people over 60 years of age and those who are in a high-risk category (having a previous medical condition). We appreciate others allowing those folks to shop before coming to the Farmers Market.

What we are doing to help keep you safe:

  • The farmers market layout has increased in size and has been redesigned with social distancing in mind - vendor booths are spaced 10 feet apart to allow customers more space for social distancing.

  • Each vendor booth has a designated 'Social Distancing Safety Officer'

  • All vendors and market staff are required to wear masks or face coverings.

  • No samples are being offered.

  • Vendors will adhere to Center for Disease Control (CDC) protocols.

  • High-touch areas are frequently sanitized.

  • Handwashing stations that are foot activated are provided.

  • Neither vendors, nor their staff, will come to the Farmers Market if they are ill. We are waiving cancellation fees for them.

  • We’ll have reminder signs posted.

  • No music or busking will be taking place.

  • No public tables or seating will be provided

*All forms of payment (cash, credit/debit cards, and LCFM tokens) are accepted. Credit/debit card use is preferred over cash when possible. SNAP/EBT cards are welcome and can be processed at the Info Booth.

Please help us keep everyone healthy:

  • Maintain at least 6 feet between yourself and other people at all times.

  • We recommend that shoppers wear a mask or face covering while at the market.

  • Send only one member of your household when possible.

  • Shop quickly and do not linger in the market area after you have finished your shopping.

  • Do not touch produce and items that you are not buying.

  • Sanitize your hands before coming to the Farmers Market.

  • Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. If you do, please sanitize or wash your hands before touching anything.

  • Stay home if you have symptoms or have been exposed to someone with symptoms.

We share our community’s interest in minimizing the risk of transmission, while also understanding the importance of access to locally grown and produced foods. Thank you for your support of these efforts!
