Farmer Promotion Program
LCFM’s Farmers Market Promotion Program (FMPP) is a special plan of action that the market is able to offer to a small number of new vendors each year. This program is made possible by a federal grant awarded to the market by the USDA. We are about to enter our third and final year of offering this ‘New Member Program’ as funded by the grant. The program is designed to reduce barriers for new and historically underserved producers to sell at the market and aims to build strong, resilient food systems. This is accomplished by offering a cohort of vendors opportunities such as reduced booth fees, access to marketing materials, specialized training sessions, and a mentorship program. In 2023, we had six farms participate, and in 2024 we welcomed four new farms into the program. Every farm accepted has been in production for 5 years or less, has little to no market experience, and has demonstrated financial and/or social need. We hope that this program allows more up-and-coming farmers to become integrated members in our local agricultural community.
Our 2025 application period is now open!
We will be accepting interest forms through Jan 30th, 2025. For your application to be considered, you must attend an information session. You can pick a date to attend on the interest form.
Any questions can be directed to our Program Coordinator, Sonya
(sonya@ lanecountyfarmersmarket.org).
We are seeking to remove barriers of entry into the market by offering:
– Tailored orientation sessions
– Resources and aid to fulfill vending requirements
– Entire financial sponsorship of booth fees and banners
– Canopies, tables, and other equipment as needed will be made available to borrow
We are specifically seeking farms and ranches that either:
– Have been in operation for less than five years
– Are owner/operated by women or other gender minorities
– Are owned/operated by BIPOC individual(s)
– Are veteran owner/operated
– Quality as a Limited-Resource Farm Household*
*You can quality for this by providing proof that your farm generated low farm sales for two consecutive years (under $180,300 each year) and had low household income for those years. Low household income is defined for this program as making less than $29,508 per individual. If you are unsure if you qualify, please send in your interest form anyways so that we can determine your eligibility. We are prioritizing individuals who reside in Lane County but will not disqualify eligible businesses that reside elsewhere. In an effort to grow our Tuesday market, preference for program participation will be offered to businesses that are available to vend on Tuesday over Saturday-only availability.
We look forward to hearing from you and supporting your growth at LCFM!
